Elliott is a very happy and content baby. I think he would be considered an "easy" baby (he takes after his Daddy in more ways than one). He rarely cries and can be easily soothed when he does. He loves to go on walks in his carrier with Mommy and Daddy and loves to play with them at home, but he also enjoys playing on his own with his toys. He loves his toys! Elliott is also really into listening to music these days. He always likes to go new places, meet new people, and see new things. He could sit in my lap for hours when we have visitors just listening to everyone talk. He laughs and laughs when Mommy and Daddy play peek-a-boo with him (this is a very new and fun thing!)
Elliott has been sitting on his own for a little over a month, but he's still not into rolling over. He started scooting backwards a few weeks ago, then added a 360ยบ soon after, and began scooting forward on Easter day. He has been rocking back and forth on his hands and knees wanting to crawl for a few days, and this morning he actually took a few scoots that depending on who you asked, could have easily been construed as crawling (very exciting stuff). Elliott is an amazing and easy sleeper - I know, we are extremely lucky! He has just started eating solids and is very into it. Bananas are his favorite. He likes to grunt, say "aaaaa", and make zurbert/rasberry sounds, but he's not babbling with consanents yet.

Favorite Pastimes: playing with Daddy in the mornings, looking at (but not chewing on) Daddy's toys - especially the Hank Williams Bobblehead and the Obama figure, Mommy and Baby Sing-a-Long at the library, singing with Mommy/listening to music, sitting outside, going on walks, bath time, playing with toys, car drives, exersaucer

It's so much fun to enlarge these photos (so your dad can see them), and Elliott takes up the whole computer screen. Really very cute... even cuter.
ReplyDeleteI remember having an epiphany as a first time mom that what makes all these seemingly mundane things that babies do interesting is that they are constantly doing so many things for the very first time, and that newness is really only something that those very close to them can know. When an acquaintance comes into the picture, they don't recognize that the baby is doing something new, so they don't get how momentous a baby getting up on his knees can be. To mom & dad, that baby is about to determine where he wants to be for the first time in his life. Which way will he go? What does he want? Will he be afraid? Will he be fearless, exposing himself to new danger? Who knows?! Babies are full of mystery! We adults lose the capacity to imagine doing anything for the first time - it's been since it's happened to us.
