Savannah - We Finally Get to Meet Benjamin!

We spent our last night in Atlanta at Brandon's Aunt and Uncle's house with lots and lots of Elliott's older cousins who came to visit. We had a blast as always! Unfortunately, we didn't manage to take one single picture (well, I take that back, we actually got 2 pictures of a beer bottle said to have 1000 year old beer in it - you see our priorities!)

The next morning Brandon's Mom (Mimi) joined us for a long drive to Savannah to visit Brandon's sister, Ashley and family. The drive went remarkably well, maybe because we were all so excited to finally get to hold baby Benjamin.

Seeing Ashley and Craig discover their way through those first months of being new parents brought back so many memories that were already slipping fast away. It reminded Brandon and me of how much hard work it is and how scary, overwhelming, intense and amazing those first 2 months can be. Those feelings fade so fast even though they seem to last a lifetime when you're in it.

We stayed 3 nights in Savannah - not nearly enough time to get to love on Benjamin. Luckily we will get to see him again in December, although he will be a rambunctious 6 month old by then! Thank goodness for blogs, emails and Skype to hold us over in the mean time!
