It's been a while since I posted any pictures of our very big boy! This is because we were visiting family and friends back home for 2 1/2 weeks in August, and once I got back I was just too lazy to put ALL the pictures together. I am finally ready to make the attempt!
We were honestly not looking very forward to the trip as the date approached, thinking of the long flights with a baby who never stops moving, the 5 towns we would be driving back and forth to, and most of all the many different places we would have to try to get Elliott readjusted to as we moved along on our travels.
We were not giving our boy enough credit! He clearly is much mellower and more flexible than his parents (for now at least). He did amazing on both flights (miraculously we sat next to grandmothers each way, which made the whole experience much more tolerable, especially when it was only Mommy and Elliott on the way back to SF), and he didn't seem phased at all by the many different places we stayed throughout the 2 1/2 week trip.
He LOVED spending time with all the other children, cousins and friends - he copied everything the older kids did, following them around in awe of their utter coolness and seemed fascinated by baby Benjamin (taking over the role as youngest baby in the family momentarily). He loved spending quality time with all his grandparents, great grandparents, aunts and uncles, great aunts and uncles, and cousins.
Brandon and I were shocked at how easy and relaxed the trip felt overall. It actually felt like a vacation! That was an unexpected, pleasant surprise to say the least. Unfortunately, our picture taking was very sporadic - we would take 50 on one day and none on another. We visited so many people and had such a great time with everyone, but we missed capturing photos of some visits all together.
Posts with the photos we did manage to take are to come, and for those of you who we saw but got no pictures of, we will just have to visit you again very soon to get some pictures!
